Remember Hero Puch?
Well, they tried the most development-wise after Steyr-Daimler-Puch sold the twowheeler division. They build on the Maxi Plus design, developed new models and really, really tried their best. A few years back, already after the discontinuation of the Hero Puch models, Hero decided to step into the electric market. A China-produced scooter was bought and adapted for the local Indian market. With a standard range of 70 km, it was modified up to 100 km of travel. A 'full tank' of electricity costs about 2 cents!
Say hello to the Hero Maxi: the fully electric scooter. Very Chinese in design, but also very basic as in less parts. And the lesser parts you have, the lesser can get broken. It is a decent try for an electric scooter and most things like the frontfork were oldfashioned in design, but very easy to fix. That was the idea of the Puch Maxi and the idea for the Hero Maxi. The Maxi name was clearly a tribute to Puch, a nod to Hero's past. Well played, Hero! Well played.
